As part of the digital transformation, more and more organizations are shifting towards avoiding physical documents from their vendors and other parties unless it is necessary or not possible to receive them through emails.

This is also possible because documents can now be easily converted to a digital format using an electronic device.

A Digital Mailroom is implemented by integrating the incoming emails in the Document Management Software, where the metadata of the attached document is entered on the fly. With this implementation, the mail (subject and body) is also visible in the incoming document section of the DMS. Thus the electronic mail formats are combined in the same document processing flow.
